| Diary of a Restoration 17th Installment, July 15, 2005 Girl Scouts came out to the Illinois Raptor Center for a mid-summer educational program. Jacques Nuzzo gave a special presentation on the camouflage animals use for protection. After the program, the girls colored cut-outs of animals to camouflage them and then hid them around the property. Kids were divided up into two teams. After the animals were hidden, teams went on a walk to find the other team's animals. ![]() A tbox turtle is hidden beneath a shrub Scouts also received a tour of the restoration as they decided where to hide their cutouts. Girls explored the prairie, woodlands and floodplain and learned a little about each. Our next get-together will be the annual Halloween "Spooktacular."
